Melbourne’s Fed Square came alive as hundreds of cricket enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the Summer of Cricket fan event hosted by Kayo Sports. The star-studded affair marked the return of cricketing icons Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, and Michael Vaughan to Australian shores, ahead of the much-anticipated Test series between Australia and India.
Joining them were Brett Lee, David Warner, Sarah Jones, Mark Howard, and Allan Border, with special video messages from Adam Gilchrist, Usman Khawaja, and Isa Guha adding to the festivities. Fans also got a glimpse of local talent as Melbourne Stars’ Tom Rogers and Melbourne Renegades’ new captain, Will Sutherland, took the stage to preview the upcoming Big Bash League season.
Ravi Shastri captured the excitement, saying, “I love coming to Australia, and it’s extra special to be here while India tour for the Border-Gavaskar series. I expect it to go down to the wire between the two best Test teams in the world.” He added, “Today was all about celebrating the passion people have for cricket, and we’re in a privileged position to showcase our great game on Kayo Sports throughout the summer.”
The event didn’t stop at star appearances—it also highlighted technological advancements set to enhance the viewing experience. From AI ball-tracking to 4D replays, fans can expect cutting-edge innovation alongside the return of the Hindi commentary feed for the Test series, broadening access for diverse audiences.
Kayo Sports also unveiled a creative partnership with McDonald’s for Six & Out: Second Innings, a documentary series produced by Foxtel Group’s Balboa in collaboration with OMD Create. This addition to the programming promises an engaging blend of cricketing stories and nostalgia.
As the cricket season heats up, viewers can catch every ball of the Border-Gavaskar series live and ad-free on Fox Cricket, streaming in stunning 4K on Kayo Sports.
