Vets Beyond Borders hosts fund-raiser night in celebration of India, complete with a street market

Vets Beyond Borders (VBB), the not-for-profit organisation that operates vital veterinary programs in India and the South Pacific, has announced its first annual fundraising event in Melbourne, Victoria on Thursday, 8 May.

VBB implemented its first volunteer program in 2003, and is celebrating 10 years of life saving work with a night where Bollywood meets Collingwood.

All funds raised on the night will go directly towards VBB’s important work where volunteers are improving the lives and health of the people and animals of India and the South Pacific. Melburnians and animal lovers will get to enjoy a night out with colleagues and friends, meet and network with like-minded supporters, and raise much-needed funds for VBB.

The main feature of the night, which is set in a converted warehouse in Collingwood, Melbourne, is a brilliant and colourful Indian street market, including all the food, smells, colours and sounds of India, live music, and inspirational guest speakers, including VBB volunteers. The food items on the menu will be served at individual street stalls in the Indian ‘marketplace’, where each stall will serve its own delicious specialty for dinner.

A night in celebration of India is on from 6pm – 10pm at ‘Our Indian Street Market’ Second Storey Studios

159 Sackville Street, Collingwood, Victoria

Tickets: $120 per person or $110 per person for VBB members, students, early bird and bookings of 10 or more; Price includes Indian street food, drinks and entertainment

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
