More families and friends of all abilities can now enjoy an adventure on the Murray River with the launch of Australia’s first-ever supported accessibility houseboat in Mildura.

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos today announced the debut of the new luxury houseboat, aimed at attracting more visitors from interstate and overseas to Mildura. This initiative is supported by the Regional Tourism Investment Fund.

Operated by All Seasons Houseboats in Mildura, the new houseboat features wheelchair access, enhanced railings, and luxury amenities such as a spa, spacious living areas, and a larger master bedroom with ensuite facilities.

Designed with accessibility in mind, the six-bedroom houseboat includes wider corridors, adjustable height benches in the kitchen area, and other adaptations to assist individuals with mobility needs. It also boasts the southern hemisphere’s first wheelchair accessible elevator on a houseboat.

Owners Sean and Jodie Bromley of All Seasons Houseboats emphasise that the boat, named Elevate Luxury, not only symbolizes indulgence but also sets a new standard for luxury and accessibility along the Murray River.

Established in 2004 with a single small houseboat, All Seasons Houseboats has grown into one of Mildura’s largest tourism operators, now managing a fleet of 15 vessels. The company collaborated with local boat builder Baldwin Boats to construct this innovative vessel.

Tourism plays a vital role in the Mildura-Mallee region, attracting over 1.3 million visitors in the year ending December 2023, significantly boosting local employment, businesses, and the economy.

We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution.
