Soroptimist International is a global women’s service club working to support and transform the lives of women and girls around the world. With a network of over 72,000 club members in 121 countries, the organisation operates at local, national, and international levels to educate, empower, and enable opportunities for women and girls.
Soroptimist International has a strong presence in India, with clubs located in cities such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. The City of Wyndham, Victoria, also has a vibrant Soroptimist club, which offers numerous opportunities to support women and girls in the diverse community.
Club members have the autonomy to decide on their own projects and initiatives, which can range from providing support for women in refuges and homeless women, to donating items to food banks, pamper packs for refugee women and healthcare workers, and scholarships and bursaries for female students.
In addition to regular meetings, Soroptimist International also holds social functions to bring club members together and further their goals of empowering women and girls.
Soroptimist International has consultative status at the United Nations, solidifying their commitment to making a difference in the lives of women and girls globally.
