Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is often spoken about because of the unrest it faces. And that’s the reason, says Femina Miss India 2017’s first runner-up Sana Dua, she was proud of her victory. “It put my state in the news for the right seasons,” says Sana, who hails from J&K.
Considering the constant political turmoil in the Kashmir Valley, she is often asked about her feelings about Jammu and Kashmir.
“Our state is in news mostly for the wrong reasons, but thankfully at-least where I can contribute, it is in news for the right reasons. I hope to make the people of J&K proud,” she says.
Having grown up in an army background, Sana has traveled to different cities with her parents, and finished her graduation in law at Panjab University, before entering the world of fashion.
Asked about what made her take up modelling instead of law, she says: “I always wanted to keep a Plan B ready because you never know what will happen. My parents were supportive from the beginning.”
According to Sana, she is open to every opportunity in acting and to build a career in Bollywood.
Former Ministerial Adviser Mr Nitin Gupta comments “It’s really good to see a woman from the state of Jammu and Kashmir making it big in the global beauty industry scene. J&K is one of the most beautiful places in the entire universe. And youth icons like Sana Dua would act as default tourism ambassadors for J&K, to bring in more tourism related revenue into the state.”
