Another successful Lean In Inc Workshop held at Parramatta

As a migrant, how does one apply for a job? How do you prepare for an interview? Or set up business in Australia? Not for profit Lean In Inc has been working in these areas, helping newly arrived migrant women integrate into Australian society. Established in 2017, Lean In is well on its path to achieving its mission. The Lean In Inc committee is made up of a small team of volunteers who come from various walks of life and are passionate about supporting the mission of the organisation.

On Saturday, 23 February, Lean In hosted an ‘Empowering Migrant Women Settlement Pathways’ workshop at Parramatta. The event was attended by participants, from various professional backgrounds keen on starting their journey in Australia.

The Lean In Inc team is now working tirelessly on their next Empowering Migrant Women Settlement Pathways Workshop, which will be held on Saturday, 16 March, 10am to 3pm at Hornsby RSL, 4 High Street, Hornsby.

If you are a new migrant who has migrated to Australia and are trying to enter or re-enter the workforce, then attending this workshop could be very beneficial for you. Contact Lean In Inc team at contactus@leanin.com.au and register for this event.

If you are successfully established in Australia and would like to support the work done by Lean In Inc team, connect with us on contactus@leanin.com.au and support our initiatives.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
