Gurpreet Dhaliwal (Entrepreneur)

Gurpreet Dhaliwal—or Guru Dha as he is known—has called Australia home since 1999. He started his professional journey as a catering supervisor for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Now an event organiser, show promoter and movie distributor, Guru manages everything from small multicultural events to large scale international Bollywood and Punjabi tours, to club nights and social media promotions.

He is always on the forefront when it comes to charity and fund-raising events, and has helped raise funds for the Nepal earthquake and Fiji Tropical Cyclone Winston victims. He manages several social media pages from cricket to community work to promote events in Australia.

Guru loves the quality of life that Australia has to offer and is extremely proud of the work he does to help manage the social issues affecting new migrants, seniors, students and show business.

Guru has done several promotional videos for upcoming events and movies and has always promoted local talent. The line producer and executive producer for the upcoming Bollywood movie Pareshaan Parinda, Guru was also involved in the selection of the star cast. He finds time for all this while holding down a full-time government job. A man with many years of managerial and leadership experience, he is known to all as one with an easy-going nature, inspired leader with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Guru was nominated for ‘Australian of the Year 2018’ award for his community involvement, for inspiring youngsters and making a difference.
