Parramatta businesses will be able to seek council assistance and free business advice in the same location from Friday, when a six-month service trial opens at PHIVE.
The Business Concierge service will operate every Friday at Parramatta Library, bringing City of Parramatta Council representatives and a Service NSW Business Concierge together for face-to-face enquiries.
Businesses can seek help with council processes, obtain referrals to specialist teams and access free, independent advice through the Small Business Advisory program delivered by the Service NSW Business Bureau.
The council said the trial would reduce the time business owners spent finding the right service or contact.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to connect with Council and find the right support,” the council said.
The service will accept walk-ins at the Ideas Lounge on level one of Parramatta Library at PHIVE. Operating hours will be available on the council’s website.
The council described the trial as a way to simplify access to assistance. “This trial will create a clear and accessible pathway for businesses, reducing the time and effort spent navigating different services and processes.”
The trial forms part of the council’s Customer Experience Transformation Plan and City Economy Strategy. It will also help inform future work, including a dedicated Small Business Hub and a Business and Investment Team.
“By bringing Council representatives and a Service NSW Business Concierge together in one location, we’re creating a more connected and responsive experience for local businesses and making it easier to access the support they need to grow and succeed,” the council said.
