eaLink Marine & Tourism has again received industry recognition for several of its Queensland tourism operations through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Best of Queensland Experiences Program for 2026.

The annual program assesses tourism operators across the state using a range of measures including visitor reviews, customer satisfaction, online booking systems, accreditation standards and digital engagement.

This year marked the introduction of a new tiered ranking system, with experiences awarded Gold, Silver or Teal status depending on performance across the assessment criteria.

SeaLink’s strongest results came from its North Queensland and Whitsundays operations, with Magnetic Island Ferries, Whitsunday Jetski Tours, Big Island Day Tour, and Red Cat Adventures’ Tongarra Day Sail and Thundercat experiences all receiving Gold recognition.

Red Cat Adventures’ Falls to Paradise tour received Silver status, while several K’gari and South East Queensland operations were awarded Teal recognition.

The recognised K’gari experiences included Kingfisher Bay Resort, K’gari Beach Resort, K’gari Explorer Tours and Kingfisher Bay Passenger Ferry Services. Stradbroke Island Ferries was also recognised under the Teal category.

SeaLink Marine & Tourism chief executive Donna Gauci said the results reflected the work of staff across the company’s Queensland operations.

“We’re incredibly proud to again see our Queensland experiences recognised through the Best of Queensland Experiences Program,” she said.

“These results are a testament to the passion, care and commitment of our brilliant teams, who continue to create memorable experiences across some of Queensland’s most iconic destinations.”

Tourism operators across Queensland have increasingly focused on customer experience rankings and sustainability credentials as competition for domestic and international visitors continues to grow following the recovery of the tourism sector in recent years.

SeaLink said several of its tourism products hold eco certification and sustainability credentials as operators face increasing pressure from travellers and regulators to reduce environmental impacts while supporting regional tourism economies.

The Best of Queensland Experiences Program is widely used within the state tourism industry as a benchmark for quality and visitor satisfaction, with recognised operators often featured in tourism promotion campaigns and marketing initiatives.

SeaLink Marine & Tourism operates as part of Kelsian Group, which manages transport and tourism services across Australia and internationally.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.
