
Metricon marked Diwali with an evening that blended warmth, food and cultural celebration at its Doulton 56 display home in Burwood East. More than 80 guests filled the space, turning the luxury home into a lively gathering point for families, influencers and community members who came to share the Festival of Lights.
Guests were welcomed with the kind of hospitality the festival is known for. Bollywood dancers set the tone early, followed by henna artists and craft activities for children that kept the evening moving at an easy pace. The house itself became part of the experience, with the two-storey setting offering a calm backdrop to the colour and music.
MasterChef Australia 2021 winner Justin Narayan was the evening’s drawcard, running a hands-on cooking session featuring dishes that reflected both comfort and heritage. He said the opportunity meant a great deal to him. “It was a privilege to share my love of food and culture at the event. Food is such a powerful way to connect people, and Diwali is all about celebrating family, friendship, and community. It was fantastic to see everyone come together to share great flavours and experience the warmth of this festival.”
Actor and influencer Sharon Johal was among those attending, sharing glimpses of the gathering with her online audience and helping extend the celebration beyond the room.
For Metricon, the event was a chance to open its doors in a different way. The event reflected a growing trend of major brands taking part in cultural moments that matter to the communities they serve. For many attendees, it was simply a chance to slow down, enjoy good food, and connect with others under the glow of Diwali.
