The Indian Association of Central Queensland is preparing to host its annual Diwali Festival of Lights, bringing together families and communities at the Pilbeam Theatre in Rockhampton on Saturday, 4 October 2025. The event begins at 4pm and promises an evening filled with cultural performances, food and festive spirit.
Diwali, often described as one of the most widely celebrated Indian festivals, has become an anticipated occasion in Central Queensland, drawing audiences from across the region. Organisers say the program will include traditional dance, music, and opportunities to experience Indian culture in a setting that is welcoming to all.
Tickets for the festival are available through seeitlive.com, with organisers encouraging early bookings given the popularity of previous years. The association has highlighted the support of local businesses and community partners whose backing has ensured the continuation of the event at one of Rockhampton’s main venues.
Sponsors include The Indian Sun, local restaurants, medical practices, energy companies and small businesses, underlining the wide support the festival has attracted. Their involvement has helped keep the event accessible and positioned it as a fixture in the region’s cultural calendar.
The Diwali Festival of Lights is expected to once again transform the Pilbeam Theatre into a vibrant celebration space, reflecting the growing presence and contribution of the Indian community in Central Queensland while welcoming neighbours and friends to join the festivities.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
