Following the successful run of Bloom and Graze during the first two weeks of September, CherryHill Orchards is now welcoming guests to Blossom by Light—an enchanting after-dark experience set among the illuminated blossoms.
The orchard will be aglow with light installations and fire pits, complemented by food trucks and local wines. The popular Blossom Festival will also return for the school holidays, offering families daytime activities with free entry for children on weekdays.
Speaking earlier at the launch of Bloom and Graze, Mike Appleton, General Manager of Customer Experience, Tourism and Events, said, “This is all about bringing our incredible community of producers, makers, and creators together to showcase the very best of the Yarra Valley.”
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of our 100-acre Coldstream orchard as the cherry trees begin to bloom, it’s the perfect way to celebrate spring. From live demonstrations by some of the region’s most iconic producers, to meeting Australia’s youngest winemaker, cocktail masterclasses, live music, and even a visit from the CFA—Bloom and Graze proved to be a true celebration of flavour, creativity, and community spirit.”
With Blosson by Light, as evening falls, visitors can relax in the picnic grounds while the sun sets over the Yarra Valley. With delicious food trucks on site, guests can grab dinner and drinks before strolling among the majestically lit blossoms.
Roast marshmallows over open fire pits, enjoy local wines from Balgownie Estate and Riverstone Estates, and graze at the on-site Oyster Bar and charcuterie station—all while soaking up the magical glow of the illuminated orchard.
Looking ahead to summer, the orchard will again host its cherry-picking season, featuring all-you-can-eat cherries straight from the tree, picnic areas, and a farmgate shop selling cherry-inspired products. Early bird tickets are now available.

CherryHill Orchards, a third-generation grower located less than an hour from Melbourne, has become a favourite destination for spring and summer visitors to the Yarra Valley. This year’s calendar of events continues that tradition with a blend of food, music, and local collaboration set against the orchard’s spectacular blooming backdrop.
For visitors planning ahead, CherryHill Orchards has released its calendar of events for spring and summer. Full details are available at cherryhill.com.au/events

Support Independent Community Journalism
Dear Reader,The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.
We operate independently.
Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.
When you support The Indian Sun, you support:
• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers
We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.
If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
