Queensland Governor inaugurates Infravision’s Noida office alongside industry leaders and dignitaries, marking a new chapter in Australia-India infrastructure collaboration

Australia’s Infravision has set up shop in Noida, reinforcing the growing business ties between Queensland and India. The company, known for its drone-enabled power line stringing solutions, has quickly gained recognition in infrastructure and energy sectors. The newly inaugurated office is expected to serve as a central hub for Infravision’s Indian operations, with a plan to scale to 100 employees by 2025.

The Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young, was present for the opening, highlighting the role of Queensland-based businesses in driving global infrastructure projects. She noted that the expansion showcases how Australian innovation is making a mark in fast-growing markets like India. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony was part of the inauguration, symbolising the beginning of a new chapter for Infravision in India.

Founded in Queensland, Infravision has built its reputation on advanced drone technology that enhances power line construction and maintenance. By using heavy-lift unmanned aircraft, the company offers a safer, faster, and more cost-effective alternative to conventional methods. This approach also reduces environmental impact, preserving local ecosystems and agricultural land.

India’s ambitious energy expansion plan, which includes constructing 50,000 kilometres of transmission lines by 2030, presents a massive opportunity for technology-driven solutions. Infravision’s drone-powered operations are designed to streamline large-scale projects, improving efficiency and safety. The choice of Noida as its Indian headquarters is a strategic one, given its proximity to key energy sector players and skilled professionals.

Support from Austrade, Trade and Investment Queensland, and the Queensland Government’s Go Global Export Program has played a role in Infravision’s success in entering the Indian market. With international collaboration shaping the future of infrastructure, the company’s move into Noida signals a broader shift towards technology-led power solutions.

With plans to expand its workforce and footprint in India, Infravision is positioning itself at the heart of the country’s evolving energy landscape. The Noida office represents more than just a new location—it marks a growing exchange of ideas, technology, and expertise between Australia and India.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
