Industrial land supply in Perth’s north-west has been strengthened with the release of 11 new industrial lots at Meridian Park Industrial Estate, as announced by the Cook Labor Government. This development is part of Stage 2B and is expected to attract a diverse range of industries, from warehousing and logistics to mining services and construction.

The newly available lots, sized between 2,817 and 7,233 square metres, are set to cater to a wide spectrum of businesses. With a further seven lots planned, dependent on demand, the release is designed to address the growing need for industrial land in the region. Interested businesses have until 10 December to submit their offers, setting the stage for a competitive selection process.

Lands Minister John Carey emphasised the economic significance of this land release. Highlighting the strategic impact, Carey noted that the new lots would not only diversify Western Australia’s economic base but also provide local businesses with the resources they need to thrive and innovate. The benefits extend to job creation, with the fully developed stage anticipated to generate more than 160 ongoing full-time roles and contribute approximately $61 million in annual economic output.

Meridian Park Industrial Estate has increasingly become a hub for advanced industries. Just last week, the estate celebrated the launch of the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct, the country’s largest test site dedicated to cutting-edge technology sectors. This milestone underscores the estate’s evolving role in driving technological advancement, attracting global players in automation and robotics, and advancing remote operations and zero-emissions technology development.

The recent land release represents another step in transforming Perth’s northern suburbs into a dynamic industrial and technological centre. It provides opportunities for business growth and innovation, supporting enterprises that are seeking to scale operations and invest in new projects. As Western Australia positions itself as a forward-thinking economic powerhouse, initiatives like this continue to pave the way for a more resilient and diversified future.

Businesses keen to capitalise on this opportunity can find more information on the DevelopmentWA website. With the added focus on supporting automation and robotics industries, the estate is set to play a critical role in shaping the industrial landscape and ensuring the region remains a magnet for investment.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.
