From 11 to 17 November, young cricket enthusiasts can experience the thrill of live Weber WBBL|10 action without an entry fee during the Woolworths Cricket Blast Round. This initiative also launches the first-ever Woolworths Cricket Blast First XI, a recognition program spotlighting promising junior players throughout the season.
Aimed at encouraging active, healthy lifestyles, these programs put kids in the heart of the cricketing excitement. In addition to free entry for children accompanied by an adult, parents can take advantage of a double reward by registering their child for a Cricket Blast program using code ‘WBBL10’ to enjoy $10 off the registration fee and $10 off their next shop at Woolworths.
Special matchdays will add a dose of fun with hands-on activities for kids. Young fans can catch games at major venues, including the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval, and enjoy interactive zones at Drummoyne Oval on 17 November. Each game will feature roles for young cricketers in the matchday presentation and the distribution of fresh fruit to promote healthy eating.
The First XI, a nod to future stars, will spotlight standout young players with skill, leadership, and a love for the game. Chosen from junior programs nationwide, weekly First XI winners will be announced at Big Bash matches, with the full team gathering at the KFC BBL|14 Final. One exceptional player will receive the ‘Woolworths Cricket Blaster of the Year’ award at the Australian Cricket Awards in February.
Cricket Australia’s James Allsopp expressed excitement for these initiatives, highlighting the boost to community cricket and the role of Woolworths in supporting junior cricket’s growth.
Cricket fans can book tickets on www.bigbash.com.au and check out the line-up of matches during Woolworths Cricket Blast Round to support young players and the sport’s future in Australia.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
