🏏 Perth is set for a summer of epic cricket action! 🇦🇺💥 The wicket is ready, and the stage is set at Perth Stadium for some unforgettable matches

Perth is gearing up for an exciting summer of cricket, with a packed schedule set to bring top-tier action to Perth Stadium. The cricket season kicks off with the return of men’s international white-ball cricket, as Australia faces off against Pakistan in a One-Day International on 10 November. This highly anticipated fixture is just the start of what promises to be a thrilling few months of cricket in the west.

One of cricket’s fiercest rivalries will then take the spotlight when Australia meets India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series. The NRMA Insurance West Test will see these two cricketing powerhouses clash at Perth Stadium from 22-26 November. With the intense competition between these teams, it’s sure to draw fans in droves to witness the action live.

As the summer heats up, Perth Scorchers will also get their BBL|14 campaign underway, starting with a much-anticipated home opener against the Melbourne Stars on 15 December. Fans can look forward to more big moments with the Scorchers taking on Brisbane Heat in the annual Boxing Day Bash, one of the most exciting fixtures of the season.

Behind the scenes, the preparation for these matches has been equally impressive. A state-of-the-art 40-tonne cricket wicket transporter recently moved the drop-in wicket onto the Perth Stadium playing surface, readying it for the months of cricket ahead. The machine, the only one of its kind in Western Australia, was used in collaboration with HG Turf, ensuring that the playing conditions will be top-notch for both players and fans alike.

With everything now in place, Perth is ready to showcase world-class cricket across multiple formats, promising an unforgettable summer for sports lovers in the city.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
