Cheongju’s streets came alive as a remarkable 80,000 worshippers gathered at Shincheonji Church of Jesus in the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. The event, marking the 30th anniversary of the Cheongju Church, attracted a crowd from across the region and beyond. It was a significant moment for the city as the population of Cheongju is 850,000, meaning that one-tenth of the city came together to worship.
The anticipation was driven by the visit of Chairman Lee Man-hee, who is currently on a nationwide tour, spreading the word of the Book of Revelation. Members from different Shincheonji tribes, including the Matthias and John tribes, alongside over 100 pastors from various Protestant churches, joined to hear Chairman Lee’s teachings.
Chairman Lee’s emphasis on the Book of Revelation has attracted attention, especially for its clarity and depth in explaining biblical prophecies. On the day, he reminded worshippers of the importance of understanding the word of God, saying, “We must have a faith that is 100% consistent with these words, and this means becoming one with God.”

From the early hours, people lined the streets to welcome the Chairman, expressing their appreciation for his teachings. Shincheonji Church has seen a growing number of believers who are drawn to its structured and evidence-based approach to biblical teachings. This has been particularly notable among younger worshippers in their 20s and 30s, a demographic increasingly disillusioned with traditional Protestant churches.
Recent data suggests that 65% of Protestants in Korea feel spiritually unfulfilled, with over half seeking more structured Bible education. Shincheonji Church of Jesus appears to be answering that call, with more than 100,000 members completing their 8-month courses each year.

An official from Shincheonji Church explained, “The core of the revelation preached by Chairman Lee is that the prophecies in the Book of Revelation are actually coming true and have substance.” The church has developed a rigorous curriculum to help believers understand these teachings, a key factor in its growing appeal.
Chairman Lee continues his tour, visiting churches both in Korea and internationally, as the demand for his teachings shows no sign of slowing. His ability to present a clear and structured explanation of the Book of Revelation has resonated with many, especially those searching for a deeper spiritual connection.
