Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is back for a highly anticipated second season following its unprecedented success.

Since its release on 1 May, the series has captivated audiences worldwide, quickly climbing Netflix’s Top 10 TV (Non-English) list in 43 countries within its first week and becoming the most-viewed Indian series globally. It has held the number one spot in India’s Top 10 list since its debut.

Fans have been creating reels and posts inspired by iconic moments from the show, such as Mallikajaan and Fareedan’s dialogues, Bibbojaan’s seductive walk, the soulful songs “Sakal Ban” and “Ek Baar Dekh Leejiye,” and stunning costume recreations.

The overwhelming fan love for Season 1 has made Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar a massive success, leading to Netflix India’s exciting announcement: the series will return for Season 2!

To celebrate, a dazzling flash mob of 100 dancers adorned in sparkling anarkalis (traditional Indian gowns) and ghungroos (anklets) took over Carter Road in Mumbai. They performed a medley of songs from the series, delivering the thrilling news of Season 2’s return. The audience, joining in the celebration, sang along with the dancers, creating a spectacular moment of shared joy.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the visionary behind the series, expressed his gratitude: “I’m blessed by the love and appreciation for Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. It’s been a joy to see the show resonate with audiences worldwide, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Netflix. I’m happy to announce that we’ll be back with Season 2!”

Monika Shergill, Vice-President of Content at Netflix India, added, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali has intricately woven magic to bring Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar to life. Watching audiences everywhere fall in love with this series—making it truly their own as a cultural phenomenon— has been hugely energizing, and it thrills me to share that we will be back with Season 2.”

Season 1 left fans eagerly awaiting more. Will history repeat itself? What’s next for the heeras of Heeramandi? The anticipation is palpable as Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar prepares to return with even greater intensity and powerful storytelling.
