The 7th Australian National Hindu Conference, set to take place on 20th April 2024 in Sydney, serves as a major milestone  moment for the Hindu community in Australia. With the theme “Growing Community Thriving Australia,” this event is poised to be a significant catalyst for reinforcing the ties between the Hindu Australian community and the broader national fabric.

Organised by the Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia (VHP Australia), also known as the World Hindu Council of Australia, the conference aims to harness the potential of the Hindu community to contribute more effectively to Australia’s prosperity. It will provide a platform for over 200 delegates from various Hindu organisations, temples, and traditions, with a majority coming from New South Wales (NSW), showcasing the depth of the community’s engagement and its commitment to societal advancement.

The conference is a strategic confluence designed to foster dialogue, share insights, and forge pathways for increased community involvement in national development. The agenda will look into the Hindu community’s role across various sectors in Australia, focusing on education, politics, academia, and administration. This engagement reflects the community’s broader contributions to the Australian societal mosaic, particularly in fields such as medicine, IT, engineering, science, and technology, where Hindus have been notably impactful.

Moreover, the conference will address the communal and cultural dynamics of the Hindu diaspora in Australia, exploring strategies to enhance their integration and contribution to Australian society. It will also highlight the challenges faced by the community and outline collective responsibilities to ensure a more inclusive and prosperous future for all Australians.

The Vishva Hindu Parishad of Australia’s efforts in organising the 7th Australian National Hindu Conference underscore the proactive approach of the Hindu community in fostering unity and promoting democratic values, peace, and harmony across Australia. Through this significant event, VHP Australia continues to champion the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (One Earth—One Family—One Future), seeking to strengthen the bonds between the diverse communities that make up the Australian nation.

The 7th Australian National Hindu Conference stands as a proof to the dynamic and evolving role of the Hindu community in Australian society. It is an opportunity to celebrate cultural heritage, discuss pertinent issues, and lay the groundwork for a thriving future, emphasising the Hindu community’s integral role in the mosaic of Australian life.
