The Australian Business Summit Council Inc. (ABSC Inc.) proudly launched the fourth issue of its official business affairs magazine, EKONOMOS, at its Annual Gala Dinner on 4 May 2023. The exclusive event took place at the picturesque Le Montage in Lilyfield, Sydney, and welcomed an esteemed guest list of 200 VIPs and dignitaries.
ABSC Inc. President Dr. Frank Alafaci opened the lavish three-course banquet in the Deanah’s room of the five-star venue, celebrating the Council’s remarkable achievements. Diplomatic officials, business and political leaders, and community representatives attended the event, including ambassadors and high commissioners from Argentina, Jordan, Morocco, Mongolia, Guatemala, India, Pakistan, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Botswana.
Dr. Alafaci praised the high-profile directors of the Australian Business Summit Council Inc., which has been a not-for-profit association since 2018, for their unwavering efforts in fostering informed debates and discussions on business policies and practices. The Council’s goal is to create a vibrant, sustainable, and competitive economic environment in which Australian businesses can flourish, seek new opportunities, and improve their profitability.
The Gala Dinner featured keynote speeches from H.E. Ms. Wassane Wailachi, Ambassador of Morocco, H.E. Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, High Commissioner of Pakistan, and Senator Ms. Hollie Hughes, the Federal Shadow Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy. They discussed the vast business, trade, and investment opportunities available to Australian businesses in Morocco, Pakistan, and other parts of the world.
Adding to the festivities, the audience enjoyed performances by Italian-Australian recording artist Mr. Alfio Bonanno and Chinese violinist Mr. Yue Zheng. Their captivating music enlivened the event and brought further excitement to the evening.
Dr. Alafaci acknowledged the generous sponsors of EKONOMOS, Issue 4, 2023: Alliance Project Group, Swan Wine Group, Arab Bank Australia Ltd, and DRS ABCD First Aid Training. He also thanked the high-profile article contributors, including several ambassadors and business leaders, for their contributions to the 180-page publication.
Several article contributors or their representatives were invited to join the ABSC Inc. president on stage for a ceremonial conferral of crystal plaques as a token of gratitude and appreciation for their contributions to the magazine.
Dr. Alafaci concluded the Annual Gala Dinner by expressing his gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Australian Business Summit Council Inc., particularly Council Secretary Mrs. Sylvia Alafaci, for her outstanding efforts in organising the event. He also thanked Ms. Andrea Hajje and Ms. Agustina Muchaga from Le Montage’s events management team for their kindness, patience, and professionalism.
The successful Annual Gala Dinner showcased the Australian Business Summit Council’s commitment to fostering international trade and investment opportunities for Australian businesses. As EKONOMOS, Issue 4, 2023, takes center stage, the Council continues to work diligently to promote a strong and prosperous future for the Australian business community.
