Paramount Pictures are looking for people in the age group 15-80 and “all kinds of families and individual” for the shooting of the book Shantaram into a 12-part television series.
People of the following ethnicities: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Moroccan and the like are welcome to come and be on the show as extras. “We are hoping to capture Bombay in the time the book was written, visually capturing all of the various socioeconomic landscape,” the company said.

These roles are paid.
The filming will be in November to December of 2021.

Shantaram is a 2003 novel by Gregory David Roberts, in which a convicted Australian bank robber and heroin addict escapes from Pentridge Prison and flees to India. The novel is commended by many for its vivid portrayal of tumultuous life in Mumbai in the early to late 80s.
