Le Man Toyota’s National Achievers Siddharth Sheth and Yogesh Arora on the secret to their winning streak

The two of them tell The Indian Sun what keeps them zooming full speed ahead – Siddharth Seth

Business manager Yogesh Arora has been working with Le Mans Toyota Tottenham since he landed in Australia nine and half years ago. “I joined here as a stock controller and my hard work paid off as I got my first promotion within 10 months. Then there was no looking back,” says Yogesh. As business manager at the Toyota car dealership, Yogesh’s role is to handle finance and insurance.

Arora first started working at Le Mans Toyota in March 2007 as a stock controller, which he describes as “a very basic job”. But it wasn’t long before he caught the attention of his bosses and was promoted. In the sixth month of joining Toyota, Yogesh broke the Victorian/Tas record of the maximum number of cars financed in a month. “After six months I broke my own record,” says Yogesh, who didn’t stop there.

“In a couple of years I got a couple of promotions, and since 2010 I’ve been working as a business manager,” he says. Arora received the Business Manager of the Year title for the Southern Region—beating some 200 other business managers from dealerships across Victoria and Tasmania.

“The credit goes to my wife Monica,” Arora says. “She takes care of all the home things… so it gives me enough time to spend [concentrating] on the quality of my work. If that corner is not strong, you cannot concentrate on this corner, you cannot perform.”

All through 2011 to 2014, he managed to write the maximum numbers of policies across Victoria and Tasmania.

In 2015, Yogesh bagged Toyota Finance’s biggest award “Business Manager of the Year 2014”. In April 2016 he became one of the rare business managers in Toyota Finance’s history to win back to back business manager of the year awards.

“I’m a finance professional so this is the area I like,” he said. “Meeting with a lot of people, trying to get your targets, you’re hungry for success—this is my passion.”

Looking back at his life, Siddharth Sheth would tell you that the real turnaround began five years ago when he decided to but his wife a car. A couple of hours after the couple walked into the Toyota dealership, his wife waltzed out with a shiny new Toyota Yaris while Siddharth sauntered out with a job.

Siddharth, who was at the time a machine operator in Melbourne, having studied mechanical engineering and completed an MBA in India, still cannot comprehend how that moment changed his life forever.

With business and sales awards coming in year after year since then, you can tell Siddharth is in top gear. “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream,” says Siddharth, who notched up another great year in 2015, bagging the Gold leader Award in recognition of his performance in the Toyota New Vehicle Sales Society Program.

“A simple hello could lead to a million things,” says Siddharth, who adds that it is his mantra in life and at the workplace. “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. A smile on your face is all you need to go the extra mile,” he adds.

It was only a matter of months after Siddharth joined the Le Mans Toyota dealership in Melbourne’s southwestern suburbs that he started winning its sales man of the month awards, beating the 16 other sales representatives he worked alongside; consecutively, from 2012 to 2015, he took home sales man of the year. In 2015, he also won Le Mans Toyota’s prestigious National Achiever Award for Sales at a ceremony in Queenstown, New Zealand.

“My main focus area is to retain the customers’ business,” Siddharth explains. “So once you buy a car, you keep coming back.”
