Lions Club Sydney holds Charter Night at Parliament House


The Lions Club of Sydney Indian Inc. held its Charter Night on 8 April 2015 at NSW Parliament House, joining the ranks of 46,000 service clubs across the globe. The new charter members of the club were inducted by District Governor of greater Sydney area, Dr. Anthony Cheung.

The proceedings were greatly enhanced by the presence of Mr. Barry Palmer AM, Immediate Past President of Lions International and President of Lions Clubs International Foundation, Mr. Matt Kean MP (State Member for Hornsby & Parliamentary Secretary to Treasurer), Mr. Stephen Bromhead  MP (State Member for Myall Lakes and President Parliamantary Lions Club), Mr Warren Latham, Council Chair, Mr. Thillai Nadesan and  Mr. Mike Burnett, (President and Secretary respectively of sponsoring Epping Eastwood Lions Club ), Ms Jane Li, Guiding Lion and many senior Lions across NSW.


The glittering ceremony was attended by many dignitaries including Mr John Cox, NSW President of Australia India Business Council, Mr John Kennedy (President of United Indian Associations), Mrs Sheba Nandkeolar (National Vice Chair Australia India Business Council), Ms Divya Dhingra ( Celebrity), Ms Sonia Gandhi (An enterpreuner) and others. Appreciable efforts to cover the event by the ethnic media.
