Abhinay School will have four plays at the Short+Sweet Sydney festival

The Short+Sweet Sydney theatre festival is the world’s largest 10-minute festival of plays in the world. This is the 13th festival and has been on since 8 January 2014. The festival will end in March 2014. The festival will showcase more than 160 brand new plays from NSW, and will include works by Australian and international writers, put together by up and coming and established directors and performed by veteran actors and fresh new talent.

Abhinay School of Performing Arts Inc. is presenting four plays this year. Among Abhinay’s plays are oh! India in week 5, The Job Hunter in week 6, 100 years of Indian cinema in 10 minutes in week 7 and Irish Stew in week 8.

Abhinay promotes Indian-Australian stories and Subcontinental art and culture through instructional classes and live performances. Its artistic programs reflect the Indian-Australian influence and aim to expand the subcontinentalculture’s in Australia.

Under AishveryaaNidhi’s leadership Abhinay School is showcasing Indian talent and promoting Indian culture through platforms like Short and Sweet. This is the seventh festival she is participating in as an actor, director and producer. She has been nominated for Best Actress award for her performance in Mandragora in 2009.Under her able guidance, Abhinay School of performing Arts was awarded for producing ‘Best quality ITCs from one single company” and also ‘Best saved play’ in 2011.
