Friends turned foes Salman Khan and ShahRukh Khan ended their five years of rivalry which started after a brawl in Katrina Kaif’s birthday party.

Their reunion has ended one of the film industry’s most-talked-about feuds. Salman and Shah Rukh Khan had never spoken to each other ever since their brawl at the birthday party of Katrina Kaif in 2008. The two have avoided each other in public as well.

Both the actors hugged each other at an Iftaar party hosted by Congress leader and Bandra MLA Baba Siddique in Mumbai on Sunday. This is the first time in the last five years that both the Khans’ have acknowledged each other’s presence.
TV reports showed Salman patting SRK on his shoulder, who was sitting next to Salim Khan, to hug his Karan Arjun co-star, thus ending their infamous rivalry.

Shah Rukh Khan and Salim Khan were seated at the chief minister’s table, along with other ministers and important guests. Salman walked around the table greeting people. When Salman reached Shah Rukh’s side, one could feel the tension in the air. Everyone waited with baited breath to see what would happen next. SRK kept straight face bad looked ahead to avoid an awkward moment. That’s when Salman tapped him on his shoulder and extended his hand for a shake. SRK got up and hugged him. Suddenly there was an excitement and everyone around started taking pictures

Suddenly there was an excitement and everyone around began clicking pictures. A source present said, “They did not speak after that. If Salman had ignored only Shah Rukh at the table, it would have been very uncomfortable for everyone present at the Iftaar party. It was really gracious of him to make the first move. SRK, was quick to react with a warm smile and a genuine hug.”

“Salman and Shah Rukh are my childhood friends. They themselves met each other,” said Mr Siddique.
SRK later took to Twitter and wrote: “Finally u realize turning the page is the best feeling in the world, becos there is so much more to the book than the page u were stuck on”.
