Ashish Reddy Katta, Patron and President of the Indian Cultural and Community Association of Queensland (ICAQ), has been recognised as the Most Commendable Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2026 Multicultural Queensland Awards.
The award was presented on 28 August, recognising Katta’s work across business, education, renewable energy, sustainability, workforce development and Australia-India trade.
ICAQ said the award acknowledged Katta’s contribution to Queensland’s multicultural communities and his involvement in initiatives aimed at creating opportunities across a range of industries.
Katta’s business career includes the development of iCollege into NextEd Group, which is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange as ASX: NXD. His work has also extended into emerging industries including hydrogen and waste-to-energy, alongside efforts to support international education and workforce development.
Through his role with ICAQ, Katta has also been involved in promoting entrepreneurship and collaboration within Queensland’s multicultural communities. The organisation said his work has focused on creating connections between business, community and industry while supporting opportunities for culturally diverse Queenslanders.
ICAQ congratulated Katta on the award and said his recognition reflected his leadership and involvement in Queensland’s multicultural community.
The 2026 Multicultural Queensland Awards brought together individuals, businesses and community organisations recognised for their contributions across areas including volunteering, entrepreneurship, community projects and grassroots initiatives.
ICAQ also congratulated the other award recipients and acknowledged their work across Queensland’s diverse communities.
