A community celebration of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam will be held in Brisbane next month, with organisers inviting families to attend and couples to take part in the ceremony.
The JET Brisbane Chapter said the event will take place on Saturday, 18 April, at Kelvin Grove State College Hall, with proceedings scheduled from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
“With the blessings of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, the JET Brisbane Chapter warmly invites you and your family to celebrate,” organisers said in the announcement.
The ceremony will be conducted as a Samuhika Kalyanam, allowing participating couples to perform the ritual together under the guidance of priests. “This event will be conducted as a Samuhika Kalyanam where interested couples will have the divine opportunity to perform the Kalyanam under the guidance of our priests,” the organisers said.
Attendance will require prior registration, with further details to be released. “Pre-event registration will be compulsory,” the notice states, adding that the registration link will be shared separately.
The programme will conclude with Mahaprasadam served to attendees.
Organisers said they are seeking community participation for the occasion. “We humbly seek your and your family’s presence for this auspicious occasion.”
Contact details have been provided for enquiries, including a phone number and email for the organising committee.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability.
