The Malinauskas Labor Government has made public transport even more accessible with updates to the Adelaide Metro Buy and Go app. From today, all ticket types are available through the app, including Regular and Concession 14- and 28-day fares, as well as the $10 Student 28-day pass introduced earlier this year.

Students benefit from travel to and from school for the equivalent of 25 cents per trip, following the reduction of the student pass from $28.60 to $10 on 1 July. Usage has surged, with Adelaide Metro recording 485,303 student pass validations in September, an 88 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The app update also aims to improve passenger information. Adelaide Metro’s subscription service now offers a range of personalised alerts, from service disruptions and planned upgrades to notifications about special events. Users can select the routes and types of alerts relevant to them, which are then sent via email or text.

Emily Bourke said, “With school set to return next week, it’s great that students can now get their discounted 25 cent trips on the Adelaide Metro Buy and Go app. Improving public transport is a priority for the State Government, whether it is providing faster trips, cheaper fares, or by offering passengers more choice in their ticketing options. The Adelaide Metro free subscription service allows customers to stay up to date on all service disruptions and news updates.”

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
