A new driving range has opened at Country Club Tasmania, offering visitors in the North of the state another way to enjoy golf. The Range includes a multi-storey driving range and an 18-hole mini golf course, designed to provide both entertainment and a modern sporting experience.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff officially opened the facility on Sunday, highlighting its benefits for the local community and economy. He noted that the development has already created nearly 40 jobs and contributes to a strong tourism sector, which supports one in six Tasmanian jobs.

The Federal Group, which manages the Country Club, said the project was part of a broader vision to strengthen existing facilities while building new experiences. Managing Director Greg Farrell said the driving range features the state’s first multi-storey design, ball-tracking technology and lounge-style bays intended to make visits comfortable and social.

Since opening just over seven weeks ago, more than 800,000 balls have been hit at The Range, averaging around one every three seconds. Mr Farrell said the facility has created more than 40 local jobs, many for young people taking their first steps into the workforce.

The Country Club is also investing in the $20 million 18-hole Championship course, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The course will be one of only thirteen sand-capped courses in Australia, featuring stone and suspension bridges that reflect Tasmania’s heritage.

The new driving range and forthcoming championship course are part of ongoing efforts to expand Tasmania’s golf offerings, boost tourism, and provide employment opportunities while creating modern, enjoyable spaces for the community.
