Ayurveda, one of the world’s oldest holistic healing sciences, has been guiding humanity for more than 5,000 years. Originating in ancient India, it emphasises harmony between the mind, body, and spirit through natural therapies, balanced nutrition, and mindful lifestyle practices. To honour this timeless wisdom, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, established Ayurveda Day, coinciding with Dhanvantari Jayanti—celebrating Lord Dhanvantari, revered as the divine physician and a symbol of health and healing.

This year, the Consulate General of India in Brisbane will host Ayurveda Day 2025 on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 12th Floor, 301 Coronation Drive, Milton, Queensland 4064. The theme, “Ayurveda for People & Planet”, reflects Ayurveda’s relevance not only to individual health but also to sustainable living in harmony with nature.

The programme will feature talks by prominent Ayurveda practitioners, offering insights into how an Ayurvedic lifestyle can be adopted in modern times and its profound role in promoting mental and emotional wellbeing. Participants will gain practical guidance on integrating ancient wellness practices into everyday life, while also connecting with a like-minded community committed to holistic health.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
