The Wyndham Business Awards marked their 2025 gala with a packed night of recognition on Friday 12 September, shining a spotlight on the organisations and individuals driving growth and ideas across the city.
The top honour, Business of the Year, went to Werribee Open Range Zoo, with Williams Landing by Cedar Woods sponsoring the category. The zoo was also named the winner in Excellence in Retail, Tourism and Hospitality, reflecting its place as one of the region’s most visited destinations.
Comfort Care and Community Services’ Maung Hnin Thwe was announced Business Person of the Year, sponsored by Findex Werribee. The Rising Star award went to Krushnadevsinh (Kano) Ravalji from Third Culture Australia, in a category supported by Reliance Real Estate.
The night also highlighted the resilience and adaptability of local businesses. RP Motors took home the Business Resilience award, while Star Kids Salon & Spa was recognised in the New & Emerging category.
Other winners included Youth Projects for Excellence in Social Impact, F45 Training Point Cook for Excellence in Health and Wellbeing, Plum Electrical for Excellence in Trade and Construction, and EQ Leaders for Excellence in Education and Training. Workplace Edit was awarded Excellence in Professional Services, ArcStructural received Excellence in Manufacturing or Transport, and Werribee Open Range Zoo’s second trophy capped off the evening.
Mayor Jennie Barrera said the awards demonstrated the strength and diversity of Wyndham’s business community. “We are proud to celebrate the incredible contributions of our local businesses, who are creating opportunities, supporting jobs, and making a real difference in people’s lives.”
Attention now turns to 2026, which will mark three decades of the Wyndham Business Awards. Organisers say planning is already underway for the milestone year, with sponsorship and partnership opportunities open to those wanting to be part of the celebrations.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
