Frasers Property Australia has named Snigdha Sharma as the new Centre Manager overseeing its Victorian retail portfolio, including the well-known Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre and the soon-to-open Mambourin Marketplace.
Ms Sharma steps into the role with more than a decade of experience spanning retail operations, property asset management, and franchise ownership. She was previously with Scentre Group and brings both corporate and frontline retail know-how to the job.
Her focus will be on tenant strategy—ensuring the mix of businesses at each centre reflects the needs and aspirations of the surrounding neighbourhoods. “It’s an exciting time to be part of the Frasers Property Retail Investments team,” she said. “We’re looking at how retail and residential spaces can be brought together meaningfully, and that begins with understanding the communities we’re serving.”
Frasers has been vocal about integrating placemaking into its approach. Burwood Brickworks, which boasts one of the world’s most sustainable shopping centres, has already made a name for itself with a rooftop urban farm and eco-conscious design. Mambourin Marketplace, located in Melbourne’s growing western corridor, is expected to be a key retail anchor for the area when it opens later this year.
Ms Sharma said she’s eager to get to know the local residents and retailers at both centres. “In everything we do, including supporting our tenants, we are mindful of our customer and community relationships,” she added.
Felicity Armstrong, General Manager of Retail Investments at Frasers Property Australia, praised the appointment, pointing to Sharma’s ability to connect with stakeholders while keeping commercial performance in sight. “Snigdha brings a wealth of experience and a proven ability to oversee and add value to the full strategic operations of our centres,” she said. “She understands the importance of creating places that people want to be in—both for business and community.”
Frasers Property Australia, which has been around since 1924, has developed more than 145,000 homes and is active in residential, commercial, and mixed-use property development. It also owns Real Utilities, a carbon-neutral energy retailer that services several of its projects.
The company prides itself on sustainability, with over 8.6 million square metres of Green Star-certified space across its developments. It has also pledged to be a net-zero carbon corporation by 2050, a commitment endorsed by the global Science-Based Targets initiative.
Diversity is also a priority for the firm. Frasers is recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, and employs more than 500 staff nationally.
