The vibrant hues of India Fest Townsville have found a staunch supporter in Samir Vora, Executive Director of Bravus Mining and Resources. As the festival marks its 10th year, Vora took a moment to reflect upon Bravus’ decade-long association with this cultural gala.

“There’s an indescribable joy in standing shoulder to shoulder with the Indian community, celebrating culture, tradition, and diversity,” Vora began. “For the past ten years, Bravus has been honoured to nurture and support the India Fest, an event that mirrors our company’s own commitment to Townsville’s growth and prosperity.”

Vora’s enthusiasm for the fest isn’t just rooted in sponsorship. The company, known for its initiatives in providing job opportunities and fostering businesses, sees the fest as a symbol of unity. “The India Fest is more than just an event; it’s a reflection of Townsville’s heart and soul. The cultural exchange, the vibrant colours, and the unforgettable tastes have been a cornerstone of our city’s annual calendar.”

Praising the tireless efforts of the India Fest Team, Vora continued, “Their dedication and hard work resonate in the festival’s success, year after year. And as we revel in this decade-old journey, it’s the friendships and cultural bonds that truly stand out.”

Looking to the horizon, Vora expressed keen anticipation for what the future holds. “Here’s to many more years of the India Fest Townsville, and Bravus is all set to be right there, supporting, celebrating, and cherishing every moment.”

Rounding off his sentiments, he extended a heartwarming note, “From the entire Bravus family, we send out a sea of best wishes and hearty congratulations. Here’s to continuing this vibrant dance of culture and camaraderie!”

India Fest Townsville 2023 is scheduled for 26 August at Riverway from 10am to 9pm. More info here.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.

The Indian Sun Team
