In a delightful display of community unity and support, the Telugu community in Townsville organised a special brunch event at the Sri Siddhivinayak Temple. Led by community members Prashanti, Divya, Bindu, Sunitha, Mounika, Keerthi, Kranti, Radhika and Meghana, the Telugu Brunch aimed to bring people together, foster cultural pride, and contribute to the upkeep of the temple.
The Sri Siddhivinayak Temple provided the perfect setting for the gathering, with its serene ambiance and spiritual significance. Nestled in Townsville, the temple stands as a place of worship and cultural heritage for the Telugu community. Prashanti prepared delicious idlis and sweet mysore pak, Divya delighted attendees with mouthwatering Pongal, Meghana contributed flavourful lemon rice, Mounika showcased her expertise in making tasty Pongal and vada, Sunitha served refreshing curd rice, Keerthi added a touch of authenticity with her flavourful sambar, Kranti sweetened the event with her bellam payasam, and Bindu’s peanut chutney added a delightful kick to the menu. Radhika also showcased her talent by preparing a vada with tangy tomato chutney. Together, they created an impressive spread of traditional Telugu dishes, including sweets like mysore pak, and fruits, offering attendees an authentic gastronomic journey.
