Uditi Ratnala: Rising Star Shines in U12 Women’s Cricket Nationals

Uditi Ratnala, a young and talented cricketer, is set to make her mark in the U12 Cricket National Championship. With her exceptional skills and unwavering determination, she has secured a spot in the Queensland Maroon Team, representing her state with pride. As the championship kicks off on the 4th of June, all eyes are on Uditi as she aims to showcase her talent on the national stage.

Uditi’s journey to this year’s U12 Cricket Nationals began with the Broadwater trials in Gold Coast, followed by the Southcoast 2023 Queensland 10-12 Years Girls Cricket Championships held in Bundaberg. Her exceptional performance in the tournament earned her a well-deserved spot in the national-level competition in Darwin. Throughout the championships, more than 100 girls from eight different teams across Queensland showcased their cricketing prowess, engaging in six T20 matches and a 40-over match on the final day. Representing the Southcoast region for the past three years, Uditi played a crucial role in winning the State Championship in 2022.

Uditi’s bowling skills have been consistently remarkable throughout the tournament. In the Round One match against Met West, she bowled four overs and conceded 18 runs without taking a wicket. However, she swiftly rebounded, showcasing her resilience and determination. In the Round Two match against Sunshine Coast, Uditi’s exceptional bowling performance resulted in her claiming three wickets while only giving away seven runs. This pattern of exceptional performance continued throughout the tournament, with Uditi consistently delivering outstanding displays and making significant contributions to her team’s success.

Uditi emerged as a formidable force in the bowling department as a spinner, with her best figures being an impressive 5/6. Throughout the tournament, she showcased her skills by taking a total of 17 wickets in 32 overs, conceding a mere 59 runs. Her exceptional performance rightfully earned her a well-deserved place in the Queensland state team for the U12 Cricket Nationals.

While her bowling has been the highlight of her game, Uditi has also shown potential as a batter. Throughout the championships, she scored a total of 35 runs in four innings, with her best knock being an unbeaten 19. As she continues to develop her batting skills, Uditi is poised to become an all-round cricketer.

As a vice-captain, Uditi demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and played a pivotal role in her team’s journey. Her contributions both on and off the field have made her an invaluable asset to the Queensland Maroon Team. With her unwavering dedication and hard work, Uditi has proven that all her efforts are paying off.

Uditi’s cricketing journey began at Minifins, where her passion for the sport ignited. Her remarkable progress from grassroots cricket to representing Southcoast and now Queensland is a testament to her dedication and the support of her coaches. She is one of three girls who started their cricket journey at Minifins and have now reached the Queensland state team, an inspiring achievement.

Off the field, Uditi’s family has been a constant source of support. Her family and friends have been her pillars of strength throughout her cricketing journey. Their unwavering belief in Uditi’s abilities has been instrumental in her success.

Presently she plays for Mudgeeraba & Nerang District club’s U13 Div 2 Team. She was also a part of Surfer Paradise Demons Cricket Club and Gold coast Dolphin’s Mini Fins. Over the years she has represented south coast region, Gold Coast U13 Girls Representative team, and Queensland U12 Representative School Sport for three years. Last year she represented Goldcoast in U15 Paul Pink Shield under Queensland Premier Cricket.

As Uditi prepares to represent Queensland at the U12 Cricket National Championship, she carries with her the hopes and dreams of her teammates, coaches, and fans. Her talent, hard work, and passion for the game make her a rising star in women’s cricket. We eagerly await her performance in the Nationals and can’t wait to see her spin a web of wickets in Darwin.
