Nagpur emerges as the leading Indian city for real estate investments

Nagpur is the third largest city and the winter capital of Maharashtra state. In the latest rankings of 100 developing smart cities, it stood first in the state and second in India. With a district population of 45+ lakhs, the ‘Orange City’ and ‘Tiger Capital of India’, is one of the greenest, safest and technologically advanced metros. The Zero Mile Stone situated here signifies its location as the geographical centre of India and equidistant from the four major metro cities of New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

According to an Oxford’s economic report, the metropolis is projected to be the 5th fastest growing city in the world from 2019 to 2035 with an average growth rate of 8.41 per cent. The Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) is the largest special economic zone project of Central India. It is expected to generate 12 million direct and indirect jobs.

Nagpur’s property market is estimated to grow between 30 per cent to 35 per cent by the 2030s, one of the fastest among major cities in India. It is governed by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), while Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) is its urban planning agency.
