Get ‘healthy and active’ this September

Healthy and Active expo

A month of free fitness activities in Wyndham, ranging from kung fu to ballet

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at the ancient art of Shaolin Kung-Fu? What about hip hop or barefoot lawn bowls? Well, next month is the right time to try a fun activity while getting healthier in the process.

The Healthy and Active Expo will be held in Wyndham from 4 to 30 September, boasting a great range of free sessions for residents to take part in.

Wyndham City’s Community Wellbeing Portfolio Holder, Cr Bob Fairclough, said the expo would help promote the joys of being active.

“Wyndham City is proud to present the Healthy and Active Expo, which is all about getting people moving and feeling great by promoting a diverse range of recreational activities across Wyndham,” Cr Fairclough said.

“This is the first time the expo will be held throughout Wyndham, with activities to be hosted in Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit, Truganina, Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes,” he added.

From kids’ yoga to ballet and hip hop classes, this expo will encourage people to try an activity that they may never have considered before. Whether you haven’t been active for a while or you consider yourself a fitness freak, there will be something at the Healthy and Active Expo for you, Cr Fairclough said.

Everyone who participates in an activity will go into the draw to win a $500 Rebel Sport voucher.

All session at the Healthy and Active Expo are free, however all participants must register by visiting
