One-day offer gives first-time skiers and snowboarders beginner packages at throwaway prices at mountain resort

Masterchef 2014’s contestant Sarah Todd and her family visited Mt Hotham for the season opening weekend to see the magic of snow, eat delicious local produce and for the children to try skiing.

This season you too can try skiing or snowboarding with the best deal ever for brand new skiers and snowboarders at Australia’s premier ski resort, Mt Hotham.

Hotham’s Brand New Day, on Saturday, 25 June 2016, will be a fully-hosted mountain experience designed for people brand new to snow sports.

For just $49, Brand New Day guests will receive a full day beginner lift pass, a full day instruction and equipment hire including skis, boots, poles and helmet or snowboard, boots, helmet and wrist guards.

A beginner package with the usual two hour lesson ordinarily costs $99 at Hotham, more at other resorts, and doesn’t usually include equipment hire.

“We want to share our love of snow sports and remove some of the barriers people face when trying what is a new and unfamiliar activity,” said Belinda Trembath, General Manager of Mt Hotham Skiing Company.

“Every skier and snowboarder was a first-timer at some point in their lives, and an enjoyable first day, with professional instruction and expert help at every step of the way, can make all the difference,” she said.
“Skiing and snowboarding are among the most fulfilling and gratifying activities you will ever learn. Snow sports are a joy and a challenge for life, a pastime and a passion these brand new skiers and snowboarders will be able to share with their friends and family for years to come, in some of Australia’s and the world’s most beautiful places, like Hotham,” added Belinda.

Brand New Day places are strictly limited so guests should book online now to secure their spot.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
