… the Afghan TV presenter who was once administrative advisor to the Office of the President of Afghanistan

Mustafa is no stranger to the Afghan community. Mustafa, a successful presenter with Afghan Javan Television, always manages to leave a great impression for his listeners, his wit remaining on the minds on his audience long after the show is over. “To be a successful presenter, you need to be a good listener, knowing how to multi-task, take direction, and staying calm when the situation seems fraught with agitation,” he says.

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Mustafa got his executive master’s degree in Business Administration from Washington University, USA. He has taught the English language and computer programs for various institutes in Afghanistan. He has led and managed key portfolios in government and non-government sectors in Afghanistan. He has worked for the United Nations, International Organization for Migration and United States Agency for International Development.

In his 13 years of services, Mustafa has been awarded with several medals, appreciations and recognition letters by the former president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai and late father of the nation King Mohammad Zahir Shah. In his last position in Afghanistan, he served as the administrative advisor to the Office of the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for eight years before moving to Canada. Since 2011, he has worked with well-reputed NGOs like COSTI Immigration Services and Toronto Intergenerational partnerships in senior management positions.

In addition, Mustafa also coordinates Afghan events in Toronto, Canada.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
