From a diverse array of talent – ranging from the spectacular and thrilling to the positively bizarre – Gauri Saki was declared the winner of ‘Colors Australia Talent Hunt-2015’ on 6 June.

Hosted by Elegant Creations and Colors TV (Viacom), the event had 27 participants from all over Australia and witnessed a plethora of performances including songs, dances, and beat boxing.

The panel of judges for the event included founding director and CEO of Vision Asia Saba Zaidi Abdi, music producer Ajay Bisht, and Head of MFS NSW/ACT, Commonwealth Bank of Australia Kavita Shukla.

Madhvi Mohindra, Director of Elegant Creations, said she was overwhelmed with the response.

“There was very little time to prepare, but the response was awesome. We got a good number of contestants and the competition was intense,” she said.

Every contestant was given three minutes for their performance. Besides the usual performance of the contestants, the judges tested them on the spot by throwing mini challenges at them in the form of song and dance numbers to perform.

“The winner from this competition flew to India and performed there in the semi-finals of the ‘India’s got Talent’ show. So, it was a great platform for which the contestants worked really hard,” said Madhvi.

Co-founder of Elegant Creations Vikram Mohindra said it was the first of its kind event in Australia. “The response from the public was fantastic. There was no age bar and we had participants as young as five years old. We are hopeful that next time the event will be even bigger and better.”
