Vijan Patel

Vijan Patel (Entrepreneur)

Beginning in 2007 with the purchase of a Subway franchise, Vijan Patel’s career as an entrepreneur has been wide-ranging. Although he came to Australia in 2003 to study automotive engineering, and landed a job as a service advisor in Toyota, after that first Subway opening, by 2012, Patel was the owner and franchisee award winner of five successful Subway stores.

After the sale of these franchises, he successfully purchased and managed two award winning IGA supermarkets as well as a Quest serviced apartment franchise. “I would say the single most important moment in my career was when Pat and I purchased a supermarket for a dollar,” says Patel.

In 2015, Patel founded the Pentagon Group, a boutique property development and investment firm. “We take pride in offering unique and specialised property services in the residential, hotel and commercial sectors.

“Good friends are the motivating factor in my life,” says Patel. “I am always looking for ways to improve and challenge myself. I guess that’s what drives my success.”

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
