Indian-origin technology leader Jayshree Ullal has emerged as the richest Indian professional manager, overtaking some of the world’s most prominent tech executives, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

According to the Hurun India Rich List 2025, Ullal’s net worth is estimated at Rs 50,170 crore, placing her at the top among professional managers. The list is published by Hurun India, which tracks wealth creation, innovation and philanthropy in the country through influential rankings such as the India Rich List and the India 500.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella ranks second on the list with a net worth of Rs 9,770 crore, while Sundar Pichai is placed seventh with Rs 5,810 crore. Former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi ranks eighth with Rs 5,130 crore.

Ullal has also been named the richest Indian woman on the Hurun India Rich List 2025, ahead of prominent business leaders such as Zoho co-founder Radha Vembu and Nykaa founder Falguni Nayar.

Hurun India was launched in 2012 under the leadership of Anas Rahman Junaid and has become a key reference point for mapping India’s business landscape, highlighting the country’s top wealth creators, innovators and philanthropists.

Born in London and raised in New Delhi, Ullal’s rise from Indian classrooms to the upper echelons of Silicon Valley reflects a career shaped by long-term leadership and global impact. She currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Arista Networks, a US-based computer networking company she has led since 2008.

Under her leadership, Arista Networks has grown into one of Silicon Valley’s most successful networking firms and a major global technology player. According to Forbes, the company was valued at around USD 7 billion in 2024. Ullal owns approximately 3 per cent of the company, a stake that has contributed significantly to her wealth.

Based in San Francisco, Ullal is widely regarded for her strategic vision and for building Arista Networks into a high-growth technology powerhouse.

Ullal completed her schooling in India before moving to the United States for higher education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from San Francisco State University and a Master’s degree from Santa Clara University.

Her top ranking on the Hurun India Rich List 2025 highlights the growing influence of Indian-origin executives in shaping the global technology landscape.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
