Cricket Australia and Big Ant Studios are joining forces to release Cricket 24: The Official Game of the Ashes this June, just in time for the 2023 Qantas Ashes Tour of the UK. This latest edition of Big Ant Studio’s cricket video game series expands upon its predecessor, Cricket 22, by incorporating teams from around the world and providing an unprecedented, immersive Ashes experience.

Cricket 24 will feature over 200 players with full photogrammetry, representing major cricket nations such as Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, and Ireland. The game will include equal representation for both men’s and women’s cricket, as well as more than 50 highly detailed official stadiums.

Notable new features in Cricket 24 include a complete overhaul of fielding systems, cross-platform capabilities, and a career mode that tracks players’ progression from club cricket to the international stage. For the first time in the series, Cricket 24 will also introduce Pro Team, allowing gamers to assemble their own dream teams with favorite players from around the world.

Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley, expressed excitement for the partnership with Big Ant Studios and the upcoming Ashes series in England. Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons, also shared his enthusiasm, stating that Cricket 24 represents the deepest and most realistic video game representation of the sport ever created.

Cricket 24: The Official Game of the Ashes is now available for pre-order, with free upgrades for those who purchase the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version is set to be released in November 2023.

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.

The Indian Sun Team
