…and urges individuals to lodge a complaint if they experience discrimination
The State’s anti-discrimination authority, Anti-Discrimination NSW (ADNSW), has launched a new website—along with videos, fact sheets, Easy Read resources and information in 22 community languages—to educate the community about anti-discrimination law so individuals know what to do if they experience discrimination.
President of ADNSW the Honourable Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC FAA said that the new website, which featured a fresh new look and feel, easy navigation and improved accessibility, was proving to be a valuable resource for the NSW community.
“Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, we’ve seen an increase in race discrimination and mask-related enquiries, so it’s great to have a new website and resources that make it easier for people to find information or make a complaint,” Dr Bennett said.
The new website follows a name change in 2019 and new branding in 2020. ADNSW was previously known as the Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW.
“As Anti-Discrimination NSW continues to evolve and respond to the needs of the diverse communities we serve, it is vital that we stay relevant and find new ways to communicate and broaden our reach,” Dr Bennett said.
“Our work has never been more important and I’m proud that we have new, accessible resources—including videos with Auslan interpreters, our complaint form in 22 community languages, and Easy Read guides for people with intellectual disability—all available on our new, user-centred website.”
ADNSW can assist with a range of discrimination matters—including disability, sex, race, age, marital or domestic status, homosexual, transgender and carers discrimination—and can also help with sexual harassment, vilification and victimisation complaints.

ADNSW can help you and the other party to find a way of resolving the matter according to the law. Those who witness discrimination are encouraged to report it via the ADNSW online community reporting tool.
