The Victorian Government is delivering two new bus services which will connect people living in growing areas of Truganina and Tarneit West seamlessly with metropolitan and regional train services for the first time.

Minister for Public Transport Ben Carroll and Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly announced the brand new routes to service newer estates in the area, giving communities in the outer west a connection to V/Line trains at Tarneit Station and Metro services at Williams Landing and Werribee Stations.

“We know our western suburbs are growing—we’re making sure every community has the important connections they need to get both into Melbourne and around their local community. These new routes will also give people the opportunity to leave the car at home and catch the train into the city,” said Mr Carroll.

Route 152, Tarneit to Williams Landing, and Route 182, Werribee to Tarneit via Tarneit West will begin in May 2021—helping people connect more easily to work, school and local services and amenities like Werribee Town Centre.

Both routes will run every 40 minutes, seven days a week, with higher frequencies in the peaks.

New bus stops will also be built along the new routes, with the Department of Transport to notify local residents and businesses of their new locations.

Full timetable details will be decided once an operator has been chosen and new bus stop locations finalised.

The bus routes are subject to a tender process, with the contract to be awarded later in the year.

Passengers can check the PTV Journey Planner from April 2021 to plan their journey.

Victorians are reminded to avoid public transport unless leaving the house for essential purposes, to always wear a face covering when in public, practice good hand hygiene and physically distance wherever possible.

“As a result of these new services, locals will have more options when it comes to getting around their local area and engaging more with local businesses and public spaces,” said Ms Connolly.
