With a large number of visitors to Mt Baw Baw being of Indian origin, a celebration of Indian culture was but inevitable… and much-awaited
During the weekend of 9 and 10 September, Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort celebrated ‘Bollywood in the Snow’. The resort was converted into a colourful and vibrant Bollywood festival where NB Dance Company showcased a series of dance performances and workshops. Visitors were further entertained with Bollywood music Dj’d by Melbourne’s finest DJ ASA from Enigmatic Entertainment and got to dance to live Indian drumming (Dhol).
While the henna artist proved popular at the event, the festival also saw a delightful spread of Indian food catered by Yo India and other restaurants and bistros at Mt Baw Baw.
NB Dance Company’s founder Natasha Baweja said, “It was an unbelievable experience for the team. A concept so unique that I foresee this becoming a trend. The vibe at Mt Baw Baw was magnificent and people were so excited to see the performances, learn some dance moves, groove to Bollywood music and get their hands painted with henna.”
NB Dance Company is rated as one of the top most entertainment companies in Australia. Since the launch of the company in 2013, the team has performed with over 20 A-class Bollywood celebrities, at various AFL games, featured on Australia’s premiere channel “Channel 10”, and headlined events all across Australia and New Zealand.
