It isn’t hard to see why Penny Sidhu found herself in Melbourne, with a burgeoning career in sport destined to bring her to the sporting capital of the world.
After a successful stint as digital marketing manager with Kings XI Punjab in cricket’s lucrative Indian Premier League, Penny transitioned to the hockey field, assuming the role of marketing and brand manager for national sporting organisation Hockey Australia.
It is the juxtaposition of contrasts which gives Penny a unique glimpse into the often male-dominated sporting landscape. It’s hardly unsurprising that someone so statuesque could feel as comfortable on the catwalk as she does in the corporate world.
“Melbourne and I are the perfect fit,” says Penny, with reference to the city’s many and varied festivals, the perfect vehicle to explore the more creative aspects of her personality. Penny has indulged in film, comedy, music, architecture and fashion.
Penny’s community values see her working ardently on projects involving women empowerment through sport at the grassroots level. She is also an active patron of the Global Vaddo Charitable Trust Melbourne and Cancer Council of Victoria.
