Rakesh and Sunita Aggarwal with the Endeavour Award.

LONGWARRY Food Park’s commitment to a sustainable dairy industry has been recognised with an Endeavour Award for Environmental Solution of the Year.

The prestigious business awards, in which the company was also nominated in the Exporter of the Year category as well as a Lifetime Achievement nomination for managing director Rakesh Aggarwal, were held in Sydney last month.

Mr Aggarwal said receiving the award at the Ivy Ballroom was a true highlight of his time at Longwarry Food Park.

“To be recognised by industry peers is confirmation that all the hard work we do here at Longwarry Food Park is being acknowledged,” he said.

“We know that our export markets want a clean and green product, so this helps promote Gippy milk as a genuinely sustainable product.

“The bottom line is, this award will help us to sell dairy products into export markets, so it really is a win for everyone connected to Longwarry Food Park.”

The award recognised a number of efficiency upgrades at the plant in recent times, especially a reduction in energy needed to operate the dryer.

“Our dryer upgrade has significantly reduced our carbon footprint while increasing our capacity by 25 per cent,” Mr Aggarwal said.

“The energy cost reduction is about 30 per cent on per unit production basis. This has been a very successful upgrade.”

Support Independent Community Journalism

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun exists for one reason: to tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.
We report on local councils, state politics, small businesses and cultural festivals. We focus on the Indian diaspora and the wider multicultural community with care, balance and accountability. We publish in print and online, send regular newsletters and produce video content. We also run media training programs to help community organisations share their own stories.

We operate independently.

Community journalism does not have the backing of large media corporations. Advertising revenue fluctuates. Platform algorithms change. Costs continue to rise. Yet the need for credible, grounded reporting in a multicultural Australia has never been greater.

When you support The Indian Sun, you support:

• Independent reporting on issues affecting migrant communities
• Coverage of local and state decisions that shape daily life
• A platform for small businesses and community groups
• Media training that builds skills within the community
• Journalism accountable to readers

We cannot cover everything, but we work to cover what matters.

If you value thoughtful reporting that reflects Australia’s diversity, we invite you to contribute. Every donation helps us maintain the quality and consistency of our work.

Please consider making a contribution today.

Thank you for your support.
