Point Cook will host its first Mata Ki Chowki at the Alamanda Club on Friday 20 March 2026, with Jashn Foundation Inc organising the event for residents across Melbourne’s western suburbs. The evening, beginning at 5pm, will be led by devotional singer Gunkaar and is expected to draw families from Point Cook, Williams Landing, Tarneit and nearby areas.

Organisers say the gathering offers local residents an opportunity to take part in a traditional Mata Ki Chowki within their own community for the first time. The program will include live devotional bhajans and mata ke geet, traditional rituals and aarti, and a family-friendly setting designed to encourage participation across age groups.
Ankush Batra, founder of Jashn Foundation, said the event reflects the cultural growth of the area and the foundation’s efforts to create spaces for heritage and spirituality.
“This Mata Ki Chowki is not just a religious gathering; it is about strengthening bonds within our community and creating a spiritual home away from home,” he said.
Jashn Foundation has been working to organise events that bring together members of the Indian community while welcoming broader participation. Organisers describe the evening as one centred on prayer, music and community connection.
With Gunkaar leading the devotional singing, the program is expected to focus on traditional bhakti music and collective worship.
Community members say the event marks a new chapter for Point Cook, where the Indian community has grown steadily in recent years. Attendance is expected from families across the western corridor, making it one of the larger faith-based gatherings held locally.
