The Northern Territory’s technology community came together to celebrate innovation and digital achievement at the NT Digital Excellence Awards 2025, recognising individuals and organisations shaping the region’s digital future.

Assistant Minister for Mining and Energy Khoda Patel congratulated the winners and nominees, saying their creativity and innovation were “powering the Territory’s digital future.”

Among the standout winners was K Grant Harris, who took home both the ACS ICT Professional of the Year and the Minister’s Gold Award. One IT Services claimed multiple honours, including the AISA Cyber Security Impact Award and ICTNT Local Business of the Year, while Connecting Dots – Apply Cyber won DTBAR Innovation of the Year.

Young talent featured strongly, with Kenzie Hall receiving the Nutanix Primary School STEM Curious Creator Award and Noah Lo named NEC Secondary STEM Student of the Year. The CDU Code Fair Overall Award for Most Outstanding Entrant went to Ngoc Cuong Hoang, Thi To Nu Dinh, Phong Tran Tran and Le Quynh Nhu Doan, reflecting the strength of local digital education programs.

Level Up Gaming received the Kinetic IT Community Benefit Project of the Year Award for its contribution to community engagement, while the Cisco Inspiring Women Award went to Lainey Murphy, recognising her role in advancing women in technology. The New Future IT and Red Centre Technology Rising Star of the Year was awarded to Arsh Hasan.

The Awards are organised by a committee representing ICT peak bodies and serve as the Territory’s premier event for digital excellence. Since their inception in 2017, the Awards have celebrated collaboration across industry and government. This year’s ceremony reaffirmed that cooperative spirit, acknowledging those who are building the Territory’s digital capability across education, business, and government.

Chief Judge Bob Creek, who has spent more than five decades contributing to the NT’s ICT development, highlighted the Awards’ role in promoting innovation and collaboration. “It’s a privilege to see the next generation of Territory innovators carrying forward the work of those who built the systems and services we rely on today,” he said.

Long-serving professionals such as Krissy Breed, Bruno Braga, and Phil Lane were recognised for their leadership in areas ranging from education reform and digital strategy to major technology transformation. Figures like Dr Carla Eisemberg, who founded Charles Darwin University’s Radicle Centre for STEM Engagement, and Peta Hine, a pioneer in VET programs for Indigenous students, continue to inspire the next wave of Territory talent.

Steven Roberts of One IT Services and Camille Fong Lim of the Office of Digital Government both embody the Territory’s commitment to practical innovation and community development, fostering opportunities that extend beyond business into mentorship and social impact.

As the Awards committee prepares for the 2025 program, it is inviting new partners to join in promoting digital excellence across the Northern Territory. The event provides a platform to engage with a growing and dynamic sector that remains central to the Territory’s economic and social development.
